TÜBİTAK BİGG Investment Support

BioRHub has been awarded investment support under the TÜBİTAK 1812 Individual Young Enterprise (BİGG) program. This significant milestone has enabled the technological advancement and the official launch of the microbial and biological products developed by BioRHub.

BioRHub, our biotechnology startup that bridges the gap between academic knowledge and field reality while approaching agricultural ecosystems within their unique context, was officially founded on December 27, 2024. Based in Izmir, we are proud to embark on this journey to restore soil and production systems through biological solutions inspired by nature.

BioRHub Showcases Scientific Innovation at the 9th International Plant Protection Congress

We participated in the 9th International Plant Protection Congress, held from September 3–5, 2025, to share our biotechnological solutions with the international scientific community. On the second day of the congress, our co-founder, Dilay Şentürk, presented her innovative research on ToBRFV (Tomato Brown Rugose Fruit Virus), a significant global threat to tomato production.

The poster presentation, titled “CRISPR and dsRNA-Based Gene Silencing Approaches Against ToBRFV,” explores the use of cutting-edge genetic technologies that move beyond traditional methods in combating the virus. At BioRHub, we are proud to support transdisciplinary research in plant protection and to represent our academic expertise on international platforms, aiming to generate solutions for global agricultural challenges.

Transformation in Tobacco Production

On January 14, 2026, we established a significant project partnership with the Neorev team, who share our vision for increasing value-added in agricultural production. Within the scope of this collaboration, the implementation of BioRHub's unique "Creative Stress Agents" technology and field project planning were finalized to address insufficient nicotine levels in tobacco production.

During the meeting, we detailed the impact of our biotechnological approach—which maximizes secondary metabolite production by triggering the plant's defense mechanism in a controlled manner—on nicotine synthesis pathways in tobacco. Combining BioRHub's academic depth with Neorev's industry strength, this project aims to achieve target quality standards using nature-inspired molecules without causing physical harm to the plant.
